Vote. Vote. Vote vote vote vote vote.
I don’t care if you have to wait in line for an hour, show eighteen pieces of ID and give a urine sample. I don’t care if it’s boring or inconvenient. I don’t care if none of the parties/candidates meets your oh-so-refined standards. You live here, you’re part of this clusterfuck we call a country, and you have the responsibility to participate. Vote. Just do it.
Of course, it should go without saying that undue ID requirements and excessive waits tend to exclude seniors, working class people, and people with disabilities from voting. So if you only have 20 minutes break to vote or you don’t have photo ID because you don’t have a driver’s license or passport or your caregiver could only bring you for half an hour before you have to get to your dialysis appointment – or something – I’m not going to wag my finger at you for not voting. But if you can produce the ID, get the time off work at no/minimal cost, and stand in line without harming yourself, and you STILL don’t vote…well, don’t come crying to me when a Dalek knocks down your front door.
