So we had about 20 minutes of spring last week, then it decided to start snowing again. This is bad for:
– pianos (swings in temperature make them go out of tune)
– general morale
– my health, apparently.
Yeah, I’m sick. I felt the virus sneaking up on me on Thursday, but since we were recording Fallen Voices that night, I gave my body a firm talking to. “You can get sick once I finish the voice acting for Milk and Honey,” I told it. “Not a moment before that.”
And for once my body listened to me. We made an awesome recording, went out and got drunk, and I only felt slightly sick the next day.
And then I woke up on Saturday with an awful sore throat and general malaise. So I’ve been lying around watching movies and playing Plants vs. Zombies for the 5th time (though not taking Nyquil during the day, because apparently Nyquil does nothing except make you high!) I’ve also broken my no-ice-cream new year’s resolution (I AM SORRY, COW-KIND!) because I didn’t have the energy to ride my bike to the grocery store that carries non-dairy ice cream and I can barely swallow.
Seriously, it really hurts to swallow anything solid. I had a bagel for breakfast this morning and it was painful. I mean, I still ate it, but my enjoyment was certainly impaired. So this is what I’m making for lunch. It’s a really easy and tasty recipe and you can play around with it a lot. I change it a bit by using red onions instead of regular ones, frying them slightly before you add the water and lentils, and adding a couple of lime leaves to the simmering stage to add more citrusy flavour.
Anyway, can anyone recommend a casual IPhone game that’s as much fun as Plants vs. Zombies?
